Accreditation
Accreditation by an evaluation organization
Since April 1, 2004, all universities in Japan have been required by law to undergo evaluation by an evaluation organization certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology every seven years on the overall status of their education and research, organizational management, and facilities and equipment, in order to guarantee the quality of their education and research.
Following accreditation evaluations in 2009 and 2015, Otemae University underwent its third accreditation evaluation by the Japan Higher Education Accreditation Council (JHA) in 2022, and was certified as meeting the university evaluation standards set by the council on March 14, 2023.
The certification period for this evaluation is seven years, from April 1, 2022 (Reiwa 4) to March 31, 2029 (Reiwa 11).
In this evaluation, the Japan Higher Education Accreditation Council (JHA) evaluated the following points as excellent:
"Learning Support Center is staffed at all times with full-time staff, faculty, learning support counselors, and peer supporters, and is commendable for providing learning support to students in a range of subjects from liberal arts to specialized subjects."
Otemae University will continue to strive to further enhance its education and research.
