1. Matters concerning the goals of teacher training and plans for achieving those goals
(Philosophy of teacher training)
Our university's teacher training programs aim to cultivate teachers who can contribute to society.
Teachers are expected to maintain a high sense of ethics and mission, study diligently to improve their teaching skills, and continue to grow as individuals with a clear goal (educational philosophy) of what kind of education they want to give to their students and what kind of people they want to raise. To do this, they need the ability to constantly review their own lessons and behavior and improve themselves. Furthermore, in order for teachers to be respected by students and to become role models for them, they must always maintain a learning attitude, strive to improve themselves, and develop their entire personalities. This is exactly what the founding spirit of our university is all about.
The following four items are the qualities and abilities that we aim to develop in teachers through our teacher training programs.
- Appropriate understanding of the developmental stages of infants, children and students and the role of education in society (including educational philosophy).
- A strong passion for the teaching profession, high ethical standards and a sense of mission, and pride in nurturing the next generation of talent
- Knowledge and skills to enhance subject instruction and student guidance, which are the core of school education
- Accurate knowledge and understanding of the significance of the teaching profession and the role of teachers, and the ability to appropriately consider and respond to issues that may arise daily with students, parents, or the community, and to build smooth relationships
In addition, with the goal of developing practical teaching skills during their teaching practice, we have students think about the following three items as they carry out their teaching practice.
- Did you thoroughly understand the content and knowledge you were supposed to teach?
- Did you have the teaching methods and Professor to accurately convey what you needed to say and the teaching materials?
- Did you have personal contact with other teachers, administrative staff, and students?
Furthermore, the "Practical Teaching Exercises," which is positioned as the culmination of the teacher training course, aims to foster practical teaching skills and the determination to enter the teaching profession by making extensive use of group discussions, case studies, role-playing, mock lessons, and other methods.

6. Initiatives to improve the quality of education for teacher training
At our university, students are asked to complete a class survey at the end of each semester for all subjects, including those in the teacher training course. In addition, faculty members hold FD sessions and mutual class observation events to improve and enrich classes and to mutually study how to guide students. In the teacher training course, we strive to maintain and improve student motivation by providing guidance for obtaining teaching qualifications and classes to prepare for teacher recruitment exams. Furthermore, we make sure to attend research conferences every year at the National Association of Private Universities Teacher Training Courses and the Hanshin Private University Teacher Training Course Research Liaison Council, which are attended by universities with teacher training courses, to gather the latest information and exchange opinions on how to improve the quality of teacher training, and to utilize this information in proactive efforts to improve teacher training education.
