The founding spirit of Otemae University is "STUDY FOR LIFE". LIFE here means a strong desire for truth, goodness and beauty, and a passion for creating a better society. To achieve this, we must hone our intellect with curiosity and grow up in a healthy and free manner. Our university cultivates talent that realizes such well-being in life through "heartwarming education". The content of heartwarming education is a harmonious curriculum of "Knowing, Doing, and Being". The flow of classes emphasizes the cycle of "experience → reflection → verbalization → dialogue → settling in the mind". As educational methods, we develop three types of "Crossover", which allows students to select classes beyond the boundaries of their faculties, "Cross Boundary", which is an experiential learning that travels between the campus (classroom) and the field (town), and "1on1", where faculty and staff talk to each student and encourage self-reflection.

Graduated from Waseda University. Completed a doctoral course at Kobe University. Ph.D. (Business Administration). After Professor at Kobe University, he Otemae University Vice-President. He has been in his current position since April 2022. Kobe University Professor Emeritus. He has served as president of the Japan Society for Management and Behavioral Sciences and as a member of the Labor Policy Council. He has a lot of experience in joint research with companies in the field of organization and human resources.
