Six students (3rd year) from Associate Associate Professor Hidetake Sakamoto's seminar on Tourism and Regional Management Faculty of Modern Social Studies exhibited winter activities with the Nishinomiya YMCA at the "Kuroen Winter Festival 2024" held at Nishinomiya Municipal Koroen Elementary School on December 14th, and deepened their interactions with the elementary school students and local residents who visited. The students also participated in the "Water-throwing Festival" held in August, and were able to communicate with the children more smoothly than last time.

By leaving the management of the day to the students and making use of their previous experience, the students were able to broaden their perspective and act independently. One student, who was remembered by the elementary school students, said, "I was so happy that they remembered me as the big brother from the summer festival!" Each student seemed to have realized their own growth in confidence, saying, "Compared to last time, I was able to talk more in-depth with the children and we had fun together," "I'm glad I was able to communicate in a way that the children could understand," and "I feel like my own communication skills have improved."

Otemae University will continue to deepen collaboration and exchange with the local community through PBL classes.
