Every year in June and December, Nishinomiya City conducts the "Our Town Clean-up Campaign" in collaboration with the Nishinomiya City Environmental Sanitation Council and the Nishinomiya City Waste Reduction Promotion Council to clean up litter such as cigarette butts and empty cans that spoil the city's appearance.

Volunteers from the Otemae Volunteer Club have been participating at our university since December 2023.
On Sunday, December 8th, the students gathered at Oasis Road at 9am and worked with local residents to clean up litter.

Below are some comments from participating students.

I was nervous at first because I was volunteering to clean up the town with local people who I don't usually have much contact with, but since this was my second time participating since June, I was able to work efficiently. It was a fun and good experience to work with people of all ages, from small children to adults, in a friendly atmosphere. (HM, 1st year Department of Life Design)

With the cooperation of local residents, we were able to clean up the seemingly endless garbage in just two hours, making the area look completely different. In addition to protecting the local scenery, I felt it was very rewarding to see so many people working together on this project. (IR, 1st year, Faculty of Business Administration)

I haven't had many opportunities to interact with people living near the university, so I was very happy to be able to do so through this activity. I was able to understand the importance and joy of working together with many people toward the same goal, and it was a very meaningful time. I would definitely like to participate in another event like this! (FS, 2nd year, Faculty of Modern Social Studies)

Please look forward to the continued efforts of the Otemae Volunteer Club!
