[Faculty of Modern Social Studies] We invited guests from Hanshin Electric Railway and Koshien History Museum to be Lecturer for the Nishinomiya City, People, and Work Relay Lecture.

In the "Nishinomiya Town, People, and Work Relay Lecture" by Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Regional Management, Faculty of Faculty of Modern Social Studies, people related to Nishinomiya are invited as Lecturer and the lecture is conducted in an omnibus format. In the lectures on 6/6 (Thu) and 6/13 (Thu), Lecturer were invited from Hanshin Electric Railway, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and Koshien History Museum, a museum that collects the history of Koshien Stadium, which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary, and they talked about the history and future of each.
On June 6th (Thurs), we welcomed Mr. Kuraishi Kenya from the Railway Value Creation Promotion Office of Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd. as Lecturer, who gave a lecture on the theme of "Hanshin Electric Railway's efforts to revitalize railway lines." He explained that the purpose of revitalizing railway lines is to "increase the number of visitors" and "increase the permanent population," and he introduced examples of efforts to revitalize railway lines, such as the number of passengers Hanshin Electric Railway operates and the population along the line, PR activities for Nada Gogo conducted jointly with the Nada Gogo Sake Brewing Association, Kobe City, and Nishinomiya City, and activities overseas to stimulate inbound demand for Japanese sake.
On June 13th (Thurs), we welcomed Ms. Norika Yamamura, a curator at the Koshien Historical Museum, as Lecturer, who gave a lecture on the theme of "Passing on the Drama of 100 Years of Koshien to the Next Generation." She explained the history of high school baseball and Koshien Stadium, Babe Ruth's visit to Japan and Koshien Stadium, how that was a major catalyst for the birth of professional baseball and the Hanshin Tigers, the state of Koshien Stadium before and after the war, the history of renovations, and the Koshien Historical Museum.
After the Q&A session, Kuraishi asked, "How can you promote the attractions of Nishinomiya so that more university students will become aware of the city?", and Yamamura asked, "Please think of an initiative that you would like to see at Koshien Stadium or the Koshien History Museum."
