On the 3rd, Otemae University held the "2024 Otemae University / Otemae College Joint Entrance Ceremony" at the Osaka Prefectural International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) in Kita-ku, Osaka.
The ceremony was a lively affair, with a total of approximately 2,140 guests in attendance, including first-year students from Otemae University, the Otemae University Correspondence Education Department, Otemae University Graduate School, and Otemae College College, as well as their accompanying family members.
As a first initiative, the company is offering the "take commemorative photos with an AR photo frame" feature.
The new students enjoyed taking photos and videos at locations of their choice, and the event was live-streamed on YouTube so that those who were unable to attend, as well as new correspondence education students and their families who live far away, could watch.
In their speeches, Chairperson of the Board Fukui Kaname, University President Hirano Mitsutoshi, and Junior College President Fukui Yoko offered their encouragement to the new students. In response, representatives of the new students, Matsui Naoki, a first-year student Faculty of Architecture & Arts Otemae University, and Sakamoto Mao, a first-year student in Department of Oral Health Sciences Otemae College College, gave speeches of promise, and current students gave words of welcome.
The second part of the event followed, where international students and current students delivered welcome messages in various languages, and it was impressive to see the new students listening intently.
In addition, a roundtable discussion was held between University President Hirano and current students, who shared actual experiences to inform the new students that it is possible to actively engage in international exchange while remaining on campus. This was followed by lively presentations by approximately 25 extracurricular activity groups about their activities, and finally, time was set aside for answering questions submitted in advance by the new students.
A new semester full of hope and student life will begin on April 12th. Please look forward to seeing our students' success!
