Students from Faculty of Modern Social Studies Otemae University participated in a video production project for the Hyogo Prefecture-sponsored "SDGs Promotion Project with Students." On Monday, March 11th, five members (from Sakakura's seminar) presented their work at a launch event held at Hyogo Entrepreneurship Plaza, attended by Hyogo Governor Motohiko Saito.
This project is planned and managed mainly by Hyogo Prefecture with the aim of expanding the base of companies working on the SDGs and promoting the appeal of small and medium-sized enterprises that are actively working on the SDGs. Students from six universities in the prefecture visited and interviewed companies in the prefecture and created promotional videos about the companies' SDG efforts from a student perspective. Otemae University created a promotional video for Eiwa Kawara Sangyo Co., Ltd. in Minami Awaji City.
When the project began in December 2023, the students received lectures from the Mainichi Broadcasting System reporters and web distribution desk, a cooperating company, on tips for reporting and how to make videos, and developed their own plans prior to visiting the companies. After that, they visited the companies they were in charge of, interviewed the presidents, exchanged opinions with employees, and inspected the sites of SDGs initiatives while creating videos.
At the unveiling event, each university's presentation was met with comments from representatives of the companies they visited, Mainichi Broadcasting System, the Hyogo Prefectural Government's public relations director, and even Governor Saito, creating a buzz in the venue.
Kenichi Hamaguchi, president of Eiwa Tile Industry Co., Ltd., who was in charge of the project for Otemae University, commented, "At a time when demand for tiles, a traditional industry on Awaji Island, has decreased due to disasters such as earthquakes, you have created such a wonderful promotional video. This has greatly boosted morale not only for our company but also for the member companies of the Awaji Tile Industry Association, of which I am Chairperson of the Board!"

For about three months, a total of six students, including one who was unable to attend the presentation, worked as one team on a variety of issues, learning and gaining new realizations. Thank you to everyone involved for your cooperation.
