On September 28th, Nishinomiya YMCA and students from our university held a day camp for local elementary school students at Nishinomiya City Kohyama Campground, with 11 students and 33 children from Kohroen Elementary School participating.

This camp was planned by students in the seminar of Associate Professor Hidetake Sakamoto, Department of Creating Regional Value Faculty Faculty of Modern Social Studies, who not only planned the content but also proactively managed the entire event, including budgeting and securing the venue. The program included outdoor cooking (curry), followed by lunch cooked by everyone, making things to play with in the river, and then enjoying a swim in the river.

The students not only learned from interacting with the children on the day, but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of the process of creating a business through the practical aspects of the camp. Through this event, the children were able to make friends with older brothers and sisters from a nearby university, creating value through community interaction. In the fall, they plan to participate in a festival at Kohakuen Elementary School, and will work to make the community value they have created here even greater.
