On September 27th, students from Faculty of Health and Nutrition conducted food education activities at two locations: the "Yumechuo EXPO 34th Chuo Ward Health Exhibition" held in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, and the "Higashinari Ward Food Education & Health Festa" held on the same day.
Yumechuo EXPO 34th Chuo Ward Health Exhibition
A total of 10 students participated, including five third-year students and five first-year students Faculty of Health and Nutrition. Five third-year students taking the "Social Collaboration Seminar (Health)" course also supported the exhibit by putting their own food education media into practice as part of their class. At the event, the university's SAT system was used to conduct dietary assessments of local residents. Approximately 60 people experienced the SAT.
Higashinari Ward Food Education & Health Festival
A total of five students participated, two third-year students and three first-year students Faculty of Health and Nutrition. For children, they exhibited "Food Education Origami" and "Find the Odd Ones in the Sea," where they had to find vegetables and fruits that are not members of the sea and color them. A total of about 75 people participated.
At each venue, the students were able to see firsthand how much interest local residents have in food and health, while also gaining practical experience in developing their own communication skills. We look forward to seeing many more participants in the future, as this was also an opportunity for interaction with students from other grades.
