On October 11th, students from Faculty of Health and Nutrition conducted food education activities at the Joto Ward Food Education Festival held in Joto Ward, Osaka City.

A total of nine students, four third-year students and five first-year students, participated on the day and underwent a dietary diagnosis using our university's SAT system. The SAT system allows students to calculate nutritional values and check dietary balance by selecting a food model and holding it up to a sensor.

People of all ages showed interest in the food samples at the venue even before it opened, and as soon as it opened, over 90 visitors tried out the SAT system. The students were surprised by the number of citizens who lined up nonstop, but they handled the situation well. By participating in the food education exhibitions in each ward, they learned that many more citizens than they had imagined are interested in their diet, and they seem to have realized that it has led to many new realizations.

We hope that this cooperation across grade levels will continue to connect students as colleagues aiming to become registered dietitians.
