Long-term course enrollment system

If you are interested in studying in the field of nursing practice science, but have a job or other circumstances that require you to complete the course in a planned manner over a certain period of time beyond the standard period, you may apply for the long-term course system. However, if you are accepted in a field other than nursing practice science through multiple applications, the long-term course system will not apply.

(1) Eligibility requirements

Employed people (regardless of whether they are employed on a regular or non-regular basis, and who depend on their income for a living), those who have given birth, are raising children or caring for the elderly, or have other unavoidable circumstances.
(2) Application period

In principle, please apply at the time of application.
(3) Long-term course period

・Standard period of study: 2 years

(4) Tuition fees
- ① The annual tuition fee for long-term students will be calculated by multiplying the tuition fee by the number of years of standard study and dividing the result by the number of years of the long-term study period. If any of the amounts has a fraction less than 1,000 yen, it will be rounded down to the nearest 1,000 yen and adjusted in the first year to which this tuition fee applies.
- ② If a student remains enrolled beyond the approved period of study, the tuition fees for the final year of the standard course term will be applied.

Graduate School of Global Nursing Science, Department of Global Nursing, awards a Master's degree in Global Nursing to those who meet the following three criteria:

1. Understand the diversity of health, medical care, nursing, and health support that are the foundation of nursing practice in a global society, and have acquired an international perspective that respects the values of the subjects, with broad knowledge and ethical standards related to nursing and medical care.
2. Students have acquired the basic research skills to explore the various health issues inherent in nursing practice through scientific analytical and logical thinking skills, and to work to improve various health issues from a global perspective.
3. Towards solving health issues inherent in global society, students have acquired specialized and creative nursing practice skills through understanding and research of specialized knowledge and techniques.
Curriculum Policy

In order to achieve the goals set forth in the diploma policy, Graduate School of Global Nursing Science Global Nursing will systematically organize general subjects, specialized subjects, and special research subjects, and will offer courses that appropriately combine lectures, seminars, and practical training. In addition, a course tree will be used to clearly show the systematic nature and structure of the curriculum. The following policies will be established regarding curriculum organization, educational content, teaching methods, and evaluation of learning outcomes.

1. In order to deepen understanding of the diversity of health, medical care, nursing, and health support, which are the foundations of nursing practice in a global society, and to cultivate an international perspective that respects the characteristics and values of the subjects, "common subjects" will include "research foundation subjects" that teach the basics of international nursing and "research-related subjects" that will help students gain new perspectives.
2. In order to cultivate research skills to pursue nursing that solves the various health issues inherent in nursing practice through scientific analytical and logical thinking skills, "Research Foundation Subjects" that teach the basics of research skills in international Global Nursing and "Research Related Subjects" that teach new perspectives in research are arranged as "Common Subjects," and "Special Research Subjects" that allow students to write a master's thesis are arranged.
3. In order to cultivate the ability to practice specialized and creative nursing care in order to solve health issues inherent in global society, "specialized subjects" will be provided in the fields of "Nursing Practice Science," "Public Health Nursing Practice Science," and "Midwifery Practice Science."
4. The evaluation criteria for learning outcomes will be clearly stated in the syllabus. In lectures, evaluation will be based mainly on exams and report assignments, and in seminars, evaluation will be based on pre-learning, participation in seminars, presentations, etc.

The admissions policy for Graduate School of Global Nursing Science Department Global Nursing, is set forth as follows.

1. Educational/research purpose
The Graduate Graduate School of Global Nursing Science, Department Global Nursing, is based on the three fields of "Nursing Practice Science," "Public Health Nursing Practice Science," and "Midwifery Practice Science." Our goal is to train nurses who can comprehensively grasp the diversity of individuals, groups, and regions living in our global society, cultivate analytical ability and objectivity, use scientific thinking to solve problems, and explore nursing that meets the needs of the subjects, as well as public health Global Nursing and midwives who have the knowledge and skills of public health nursing and midwifery to respond to a society that changes with the times.
2. Guidelines for human resource development

In order to achieve the above objectives, Graduate School of Global Nursing Science, Department of Global Nursing, is seeking individuals with the following characteristics:
(1) Applicants must be licensed nurses (or prospective licensed nurses) who have the basic knowledge and skills required for nursing and who have the basic English language skills necessary for studying and conducting research at the graduate school.
(2) A person who has a strong interest in the various health issues inherent in global society, and is motivated to explore nursing from a research perspective and work to improve nursing practice.
(3) A person who has acquired research skills rooted in nursing practice, has a broad, bird's-eye view of things, and is motivated to continue exploring nursing in the future.
(4) A person who is motivated to acquire specialized nursing practice skills suited to the global society through experience as a nurse.
(5) Those who have a strong interest in providing health support to diverse people living in a global society and who wish to study public health nursing practice science in order to work toward the creation of an inclusive society.
(6) Those who have a strong interest in supporting the health of diverse women and children living in a global society, as well as in improving maternal and child health both at home and abroad, and who wish to learn practical midwifery science that is tailored to the needs of the target population.
