During my 20 years of clinical experience as a nurse, I was unable to answer the question, "Am I able to provide the same level of care to foreign patients as I do to Japanese patients?" with a "yes," which is what prompted me to continue my studies.
The most stimulating thing about coming to graduate school was my encounter with gender studies. I think it will have a big impact on the way I live my life. From the real-life experiences and broad perspectives of the professors who work across borders, I am learning that what was previously considered "common sense" is not common sense. I can't explain it well in my own words yet, but I feel that this feeling of my own values being greatly shaken is also part of the appeal of learning.
The teachers are very charming, unique, and energetic. They are also very sympathetic to students' concerns. Many of the classes are in the form of presentations, which can be stressful, but the teachers' attitude of not being afraid of failure and taking on challenges is viewed positively, so I think I can develop my resilience.

To be honest, I used to be resistant to nursing research, and I was somewhat aware that research and clinical practice were separate. However, I learned how research is conducted as something that should be returned to the field. Now, after understanding the background of the questions that have arisen and previous research, I am learning the importance of the research process. In graduate school, I am thinking of researching the health of female foreign residents. I haven't decided on a specific topic yet, but with the guidance of my professors, I would like to develop my research into something that can be returned to the field.
Internationalization of clinical sites cannot be achieved by simply providing multilingual materials and interpreters. We believe that it is the medical professionals who provide nursing and medical care who must adapt to diverse changes. The key words for our future vision are "international x local x outpatient." Our goal is to connect with various professions so that nurses can play an active role not only in hospitals but also in the local community, and to support the health of the community, which will become increasingly international in the future.
I am of child-rearing age. I sometimes study after my children go to bed, so my sleep time has decreased a little, but it's something I enjoy, so it's not too hard. Since it's difficult to find time to study on the weekends, I spend most of the weekdays in the lab and try to complete assignments. Recently, my children have been saying, "I'll do my homework next to you!" and studying alongside me, which has given me new opportunities to enjoy life. When you feel like you want to change or learn something, it's your chance to take the first step. I look forward to working hard together in this unique environment.

Public Health Nursing Practice Science

I want to become a public health nurse who can provide support that is tailored to the needs of the local community.

During my university days, I learned through classes and practical training that there are many people in the community who are hidden and not receiving adequate support. Wanting to become someone who can provide the necessary support to these people, I decided to go on to the Graduate School of International Nursing, Department of Public Health Nursing Practice. Also, through learning from a global perspective, I wanted to become a supporter who can serve everyone, including Japanese people, foreigners, and minorities. In the future, I aim to become a public health nurse who can provide support that is tailored to the needs of the community. I also want to become someone who can play an active role with an eye on the world.
I am currently studying public health nursing. I believe that in order to provide support that is tailored to the needs of local residents, it is necessary to clarify the problem through research and then develop policies and implementation. Therefore, in graduate school, I am learning about research itself, and am first conducting research to clarify what kind of support local people need.

In addition, I am learning about the history and current situation of foreign countries from an international perspective, as well as the current situation of foreigners living in Japan. Although I have not yet decided on my research topic, I would like to clarify the health support needed in the community, not only for Japanese people but also for foreigners, and propose and implement policies.
Learning at this institution allows me to have a global perspective. I was able to learn about a world that I would not have known in my everyday life, and realize that things I took for granted are not so obvious from a different perspective.
The teachers are also fascinating. Many of them are working to improve current health issues even if only a little, and I am inspired to contribute to society in some way. The teachers use their various networks to introduce me to various information about academic conferences, research, employment, and more, so I am learning and also getting many opportunities.
Although my days are busy, I believe that this is an environment where I can deepen my knowledge and deepen my understanding of what I want to learn, and also a place where I can create opportunities to go abroad through nursing. I am looking forward to studying with you all.

When I was thinking about getting a midwifery qualification, my mentor from university told me about the establishment of this graduate school. I decided to go to graduate school because I wanted to learn something that would build on my previous nursing experience and to be able to practice nursing with a broad perspective through international Global Nursing.
In the future, I aim to become a midwife who can respond to more diverse needs, including not only Japanese people but also foreigners. I am currently studying multicultural communities, childbirth, and child-rearing customs from a global perspective. My goal is to become a midwife who can provide equal care to people with difficulties in pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing. After graduation, I plan to first gain experience in clinical practice as a midwife.
In this graduate school, regardless of whether you are studying general or major subjects, you will have many opportunities to present and discuss your opinions, thoughts, and research. In class, you will be able to learn about various thoughts and gender inequality issues both in Japan and overseas.

There are only three students in the midwifery field, so the distance between the professors is small and it is an environment where you can consult with them easily. The classes can be difficult, but the professors explain things in an easy-to-understand way, including their clinical experiences, so I can learn while having fun. I plan to conduct research on walk-in births and unexamined pregnant women.
Some days I have classes in the morning, and other days I only have classes in the afternoon, but generally I head to the graduate school in the morning and spend my time outside of class working on assignments and research. I often spend time in the graduate student research lab, where I can refresh myself by talking with other graduate students.
Graduate School of Global Nursing Science provides an environment where you can maximize your potential. I wondered if I would be able to become a student again, but I am glad that I enrolled. Although I am busy, I am able to spend a fulfilling time, and thanks to my teachers and fellow students, I am able to study with high motivation. There may be some difficulties during the entrance exam, but please take care of your health and do your best.

Based on the experience in Japan,
I want to contribute to the development of nursing in my country and internationally.

I came to Japan from Indonesia in 2014 and am currently studying at this graduate school while working as an EPA nurse in the convalescent ward of Kishiwada Heisei Hospital. This graduate school offers a curriculum that allows students to learn about intercultural nursing and international health from multiple angles, and allows students to learn in a way that is directly related to their daily nursing practice. Classes are taught in both Japanese and English, making it a very easy learning environment for foreign students. I am very interested in the system that supports foreign nurses working in Japan to pass the national exam, and I would like to deepen my research on the EPA system in the future. In the future, I would like to use my experience in Japan to work in policy making and education in Indonesia, and contribute to improving the training and dispatch system for nurses. I am also considering working for JICA and JICWELS.
