Evolve into new learning.
Going beyond the boundaries of traditional informatics, we combine "AI and information technology" with "sensitivity and human understanding" and "digital expression and experience."
We aim to design a people-friendly future. Information technology has permeated every aspect of our daily lives,
In today's world where people and technology come into contact with each other on a daily basis, not only functionality but also
The perspective of emotional values such as "comfort" and "cuteness" is becoming increasingly important.
Responding to the needs of this era, we aim to contribute to the well-being of people's lives.
A new era of informatics begins at Otemae University.
By organically linking three specialized subject groups: "AI and Information Technology," "Sensibility and Human Understanding," and "Digital Expression and Experience,"
We will develop human resources who can achieve well-being.
Through fieldwork and other activities, students will discover opportunities for creating new value in everyday life and society, and develop the insight and spirit of inquiry to uncover hidden needs that have not yet surfaced.
We utilize knowledge of Psychology and behavioral science to understand people's true needs. We objectively capture changes in emotions through biosensing using cutting-edge measuring equipment, and get to the heart of the issues through hypothesis testing.
We create innovative and compelling prototypes using the latest digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, information technology, and virtual reality (VR).
The participants will design the prototypes they create into services that function in the real world. Through projects in collaboration with companies and local communities, they will gain experience in creating systems for sustainable value creation.
Lesson design that allows students who are not good at math to learn with confidence
We will create a multidisciplinary curriculum that caters to both humanities and science interests.
Regardless of your level of mathematics or information studies, we will design lessons that will enable you to gain a solid understanding of cutting-edge technologies such as sensory informatics, artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) from the basics.
"This song is so pleasant" or "This game is fun!" - such feelings can be interpreted using the power of science.
By learning about the intersection of technology and sensibility, we can make everyday life more enjoyable and comfortable.
This can be captured as data and used to create new expressions and products.
Guidance from industry-leading experts,
Learning that connects knowledge and skills across departments,
A wide range of career opportunities based on informatics
We have established an educational system that is unique to Otemae University.

Consult with professionals active in the industry
You can learn!
This is a system in which experts such as engineers and creators working at the forefront of the industry act as mentors to support students' growth.
Not only will you be exposed to cutting-edge knowledge through interactions with experts, but you will also have more opportunities to find hints for choosing your career path.
Meeting with adult role models broadens students' horizons and gives them the courage to take on challenges.
You can learn beyond the boundaries of your department.
"Crossover"
By teaming up with students from other departments and combining knowledge and skills from different fields,
We will work on "crossover projects" that take on more complex challenges.
By incorporating diverse perspectives, students will gain the ability to generate creative solutions and understand how to apply informatics in the real world.
This is a learning experience that takes advantage of the benefits of a comprehensive university.

For example, this is how to learn
Learning Informatics
Aim for a wide range of industries
By learning a wide range of subjects including information technology, emotional information, and digital expression, students can become engineers at IT companies, as well as in the service industry, manufacturing, and government agencies.
You can aim to become an IT/digital professional who can be active in a wide range of industries.
Not only can you acquire the skills to play important roles such as planning, marketing, and promoting DX (digital transformation),
We also provide thorough support for obtaining national qualifications such as the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination, which will be useful in the future.
System engineers and
Active as an AI engineer
We train system engineers and AI engineers who can realize solutions based on the latest digital technology and knowledge of emotional informatics. They are expected to play an active role mainly in the IT and manufacturing industries.
From the perspective of well-being
Creating new businesses
We cultivate talent who can create new businesses by utilizing emotional value, well-being perspectives, and digital technology. We expect students to play an active role in product planning and marketing in a wide range of industries.
Delivering a compelling digital experience
To the creators who create
In addition to planning and developing services and content that create digital experiences that resonate with people, we also cultivate talented individuals with excellent expressive abilities, and we expect them to excel in the fields of games and various content production.

To learn computer skills
At the university where I enrolled,
Learn about manufacturing in a broad range of fields,
He even mastered VR technology.
When I enrolled, I thought I would just need to be able to use a computer, but there were many manufacturing-related subjects that interested me, so I ended up taking classes in web production, sound design (composition), video editing, and more. My interest deepened, and I began self-studying virtual reality (VR) technology. At the Otemae Festival (school festival), we held an exhibit recreating the university's campus in a VR space, allowing many people to experience the 3D VR space. But it wasn't just information technology I learned. At my professor's recommendation, I took the "PBL Special Seminar II," which trains new students to become facilitators. Through this "people development" class, which sharpens my interpersonal skills, I was able to grow as a person. Since I'm working for a company that allows me to take on new challenges, I hope to eventually work using the VR technology I learned at university.
With no programming experience,
Develop games.
Even after entering the workforce
I want to continue completing the quest.
My motivations for enrolling were my interest in programming and my love of games. The appeal of Otemae University was the opportunity to create games in class. However, I had no programming experience until high school. Still, using Scratch as an introductory material allowed me to learn like a puzzle, and I was able to study prerequisites like the mechanics of computers and networks, and programming concepts, which helped me to understand the subject smoothly. My third year was the time to finally start game development. It was really fun programming by trial and error, rather than following the textbook, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment when the game started working. My new job is at a company that uses IT to solve issues in corporate working environments. As an engineer, I too will accomplish the "quest" of solving various social issues.
