The lives of diverse people, the teacher's overseas experiences, etc.
The internship is an opportunity to hear valuable stories.

This year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the training was conducted on campus, but previously, during an international nursing training, I was able to go to a community center where gay people gather and hear about LGBTQ* directly. I was also very impressed by the real stories I heard from various people, including drug addicts and AIDS patients. Also, although it is currently difficult to do hospital training, during class I was able to listen to lectures by teachers who are providing support in developing countries, which allowed me to reconsider how peacefully we are able to live, and it made me strongly want to do something in developing countries myself.

Interacting with foreign patients who don't speak the same language
The internship was a valuable experience.

With the desire to "work as an international nurse in the future" and "provide Japanese medical care overseas," interacting with foreigners during my internship was a very valuable experience. Particularly memorable was the communication with the Chinese people who only speak Chinese. Since I cannot speak Chinese, I wrote down the words I had studied beforehand on a piece of paper and showed them, and when I communicated my intentions using gestures, the other person tried to understand somehow and we were able to understand, which taught me the importance of the desire to communicate. After graduation, I have been accepted to work at a hospital that has many foreign patients, and I would like to make use of the experience I gained during my internship.

Because I'm not good at English now,
I want to improve my communication skills overseas!

It's unfortunate that overseas training is not currently being conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would particularly like to participate in training in an Asian country where English is used as a common language. To be honest, I'm not very good at English, but that's why I want to see how much I can communicate with local people using gestures and simple English words. The training will involve staying in a local student dormitory or in a regular home, doing practical training at a hospital or university, and having various interactions outside of the practical training. I want to experience the unique culture and customs and learn while enjoying the charm of the country to the fullest.
