Key points for studying this major
*To be eligible to take the Certified Psychologist exam, you must complete the subjects required to take the Certified Psychologist exam while you are still an undergraduate and then complete the necessary subjects at graduate school, or gain a certain period of work experience at an accredited institution.

- How does psychology relate to understanding the mind? Learn through multiple themes.

- You will learn the general overview and basic concepts of psychology, and then study specific fields such as criminal psychology and clinical psychology.

- Students will delve deeper into specific subjects such as social psychology and human relations theory, and will deepen their learning of more specialized content with a view to graduation research.

- As a culmination of their studies, students will research their chosen topic from a psychological perspective and compile a thesis.

I want to get to know people deeply.
I was very attracted to the sandbox-making experience at the open campus, and now I, who never showed much interest in anything, am immersed in my studies to become a clinical psychologist at Otemae University. Before I enrolled, I had the impression that psychology was just about assessing people's speech and attitudes, but I learned through three years of experience that it is actually important to specifically explore the causes and backgrounds that lie in places that cannot be seen. Now, my dream is to combine clinical psychology with the nursing care work my parents do to become a counselor who can help many people solve their problems.

This is a lecture-style class that provides a wide range of explanations on the basic areas of psychology. Particular emphasis is placed on the connection to everyday life, and opportunities are provided to think about various problems that arise in daily life from a psychological perspective. Students will learn through their own experiences how to approach the invisible minds of people. Through this experience, students will gain the ability to notice the wide variety of questions and issues that exist in everyday life, and the ability to grasp these issues objectively and logically. These abilities will then help students organize and concretize their interests, forming the foundation for further learning in all academic fields, not just psychology.
