His films are based on the themes of "space" and "pleasant movement," and have won numerous awards at film festivals both in Japan and abroad. His representative works include "The Pig Who Doesn't Understand," "The Great Rabbit," and "Peninsula Birds."

University, employment... I only had vague anxieties about the future. I tried to think positively, telling myself to do what I could now and to do my best no matter what path I took. Even if it was hard to stay positive, thinking that things would work out somehow made things easier.

It was big.

I wanted to leave Okinawa for a while and gain an outside perspective on Okinawa Prefecture and Miyako Island, so I was thinking about going to a university outside the prefecture. I was worried about going it alone, away from my parents and friends, in an unfamiliar place, but on the other hand, I was excited about jumping into a new world.

At that time, I was filled with unfounded confidence. I think not having any worries was my worry. However, as I went from high school to college, I encountered new anxieties and worries. Worries are proof that I was thinking. Worry until you get bored, and when you get tired, you should just play.

I was a repeat student. I couldn't afford to repeat my second year, so I went to art school desperately, but I hated being surrounded by talented people and drawing.
