Currently, I work as a freelance artist, creating paintings and sculptures. My mother recommended that I go to Otemae University, as I love drawing. When I was job hunting at university, I consulted with my seminar teacher, saying, "I've decided to live as an artist!" He told me, "Do it. I will support you with all my might. And keep doing art until you can keep drawing until you die." Those words are still at the core of me. When people who see my work are moved, I feel a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment in this job. I want to fill the holes that are scattered here and there in the hearts of the world and Japan with my art, even if only a little.

I belong to the Planning and Coordination Bureau of Osaka City Hall, and I handle consultations on the landscape of buildings in order to create a better urban landscape. Urban landscapes and townscapes are not formed by a single building, but by the connections between the exteriors and structures of each building. When the people I am discussing with understand the purpose and actually create buildings that take the landscape into consideration, I feel that I am contributing to the creation of a better city in Osaka. At the Faculty of Media and Arts (now Faculty of Architecture & Arts) of Otemae University, I studied not only my specialty of Architecture, but also various fields such as interior design and welfare. I think that this diverse learning allows me to tackle any field without any resistance.Learning in the classes you are given is important, but university life also means that you have unlimited time to take on new challenges. Please come and experience many things at Otemae, broaden your horizons, and improve your human skills.

After graduating, I went to Toei Animation. During those three years, I mainly worked as Research Associate director on the TV series "PreCure". Since April 2022, I have been working as a freelancer. I am currently working as a director at an animation production company called WIT STUDIO. Otemae University is not a vocational school, but it actually has a wide range of video-related facilities. The PCs come with LCD tablets, and the software ranges from Adobe to Clip Studio Paint and MAYA. If the classrooms are available, I can use them freely, so I can create my works as much as I want (laughs). The teachers are all very enthusiastic. During my job search, I received a lot of specific advice on the issues I was looking for. I hope to continue this job while utilizing the techniques and communication skills I learned at this school, and one day become a director for a children's anime.

Currently, I mainly design the surroundings of buildings, such as exterior plans. I design according to the shape and direction of the land, and I think that experience is useful because I completed a lot of planning assignments in university classes. I also design while thinking about "what kind of people will live here?" During my time at university, I studied color Psychology and fashion, and I use that as reference for designs that will make the residents comfortable.Rather than just learning about the theoretical effects of color, I studied thoroughly how to create something using that color. Perhaps it's because I can propose designs using a Psychology approach, but when my boss accepts my proposal and says, "If that's the purpose, let's do it," I feel like I've done it!

For me, the four years I spent at Otemae University were very intense and valuable, and they determined the course of my life. At university, I studied graphic design and English hard. The teachers were very kind, and I became more and more motivated despite the hard work. Looking back, I think the content of the LEO classes was particularly useful, even now that I work in English. One particularly memorable event was when I wanted to study art in the US, and they helped me get to a university that had never sent international students from Otemae University before. It was a Japanese friend I met during my time studying abroad in the United States who led me to my current job at the Education University of Hong Kong. Looking back, I believe that what I learned at Otemae University, the people I met, and the challenges I took on changed my life.
