I work for a food service company, and my main job is to check the food before serving it to hospitals and to deal with food that is difficult to swallow. I think that what I learned at Otemae University is not only the knowledge of nutrition as a registered dietitian, but also the knowledge of hygiene management, which is especially useful when providing food services. As food service companies are most concerned about food poisoning, I try to use the knowledge of hygiene management I learned in my student days to provide safe meals to patients.Furthermore, since my university classes involved a lot of group work, I feel that I am able to utilize the communication skills I developed through that group work even in the kitchen, where collaboration with others is required.

While still a student, he opened a night parfait specialty store called "Ice wa Betsuhara," and currently operates 20 stores nationwide, including directly managed and franchised stores, from as far north as Sendai to as far south as Miyakojima. He has been interested in food since he was a child, and entered Faculty of Health and Nutrition at Otemae University to gain a wide range of food-related knowledge and skills at university. Many of the things he learned at this university are still applied to the current company's operations. For example, the classes on menu planning, which often focused on the color and texture of the food, were useful for product development, and the experience of deciding on the division of roles during practical group work became the foundation for store operations and manual creation.I would like to continue to create various sweets, making use of the product development skills I learned in college. And more than anything, I feel that the most rewarding part of this job is making customers happy.

At the hospital, we check for patients with food allergies, manage the nutrition of patients, and provide nutritional guidance to those who have undergone surgery or have underlying diseases. There are no two patients with the same symptoms, so I find it difficult and interesting that nutritional management needs to be tailored to each patient's condition. I am able to make use of my experience as a staff member at the open campus at university in my work. Dietitians need communication skills, so I think that my experience interacting with visitors I met for the first time as a staff member at the time is similar to the fact that I talk to people I've never met before at work. At university, I have less free time than other students because of practical training and experiments, but I think that people who like to eat and are interested in nutrition can find enjoyment in the midst of hardship, so do your best. I'm rooting for you from behind the scenes.

I work in the nutrition management office at the hospital. In the rehabilitation ward, doctors, nurses, therapists, and dietitians share information about patients and adjust their diet and provide nutritional guidance. In the outpatient department, I mainly provide nutritional guidance to diabetic patients. The medical field is evolving every day, and there are many things to learn and discover every day, so it's very fun. It makes me happy to talk to patients and see them happy when they can eat better or their test results improve. When I first enrolled at Otemae University, I wasn't sure where I wanted to work as a dietitian, but when I saw the dietitian teachers working hard during my clinical training at hospitals, I decided that I wanted to be like them and decided on the field I wanted to go into. It was also good that the teachers were kind enough to give me advice on my career path.
