I didn't have any particular goals until I was in high school (lol), so I felt that Otemae University, where I could study freely, was perfect for me. However, there was also the harshness of not being on a path laid out by someone else, and it was up to me to make use of what I learned or let it go to waste. I am proud that I studied with determination. I became attracted to geography in my first year and decided to major in it. As my teacher said, "Geography is a subject of thought," anything can be a research subject, and it was very interesting to derive my own answer, and I learned the importance of having multiple perspectives. This is very useful in my current job. Especially when I joined the city hall, each department was required to respond to the coronavirus. It's an unprecedented job, and we have to come up with the answers ourselves. Every day, we have to come up with answers to how we can provide the best possible services to citizens from the perspectives of the citizens, the country, and ourselves in the field.

After graduating from university and before I started my current job as a Japanese language teacher, a lot happened in those seven years: I got a job in Japan to save up money for studying abroad, then studied abroad in Korea, returned to Japan and obtained a teaching license, got my first teaching job in Korea, various problems caused by COVID-19, and then got back to my current job (laughs). I've loved Korea ever since I became obsessed with Korean male idols. I think it's common for idols to be the trigger, but when I entered Otemae University, I forgot about idols and started to feel more and more like I wanted to speak Korean more and learn about the culture. This was due to the interesting classes taught by Korean teachers and interactions with international students from Korea. It's all thanks to the exchanges and the exciting experiences I had during my study abroad in Korea. I also found my goal of doing a job that would be useful to both Japan and Korea. There were a lot of things that happened, but I think I was able to get this far because I was able to do what I wanted to do without giving up.
