Employment and career support

Otemae University is not a large university with tens of thousands of students. That is why faculty and specialized staff provide one-on-one support. In addition to individual interviews, we also provide support for writing resumes and mock interviews according to each student's wishes.

Features of Otemae University 's employment and career support

We will hold our own joint information session.

Every year, we invite human resources representatives from companies to hold our own joint information session. It's a great opportunity to hear from many companies at once. Many students find this session useful in deciding their career path.

Experience the business world through an internship

Every year, many students participate in internships to gain hands-on experience in the business world, with the aim of helping them choose their career path after graduation, decide on the industry or job they want to work in, and improve their professional adaptability after joining the workforce.

Learn job hunting knowledge and know-how in a classroom setting

The basis of job hunting is to proceed carefully. Cramming will never work. At our school, we offer job preparation and practical classes in the spring and winter semesters of the third year, which are credit-certified classes. Students will steadily acquire practical skills.

Advice from experienced, professional staff

Our staff, who are nationally qualified career consultants, provide careful advice to each and every person. We also invite external Lecturer to provide practical job hunting support (such as mock interviews).

Support for obtaining qualifications that will help you build your career

Obtaining qualifications can be used for your future career planning, and it also leads to self-confidence. Our university offers specialized courses aimed at obtaining various qualifications at the Qualification Support Center. Although tuition fees are required separately, students can take these courses at a lower price than the general public.

Career guidance and personalized correction and interview preparation

From the third year, students begin to prepare for full-scale job hunting. Starting with a "Start Guidance," students are taught the basics of job hunting through self-analysis, job type research, and industry research. In parallel with this, self-promotion corrections and interview preparation are also held. We will fully support you so that you can start your job hunting with confidence.

Career support in the classroom

Career Design I-IV (Required courses for 1st and 2nd year students)

"Career Design" is a compulsory course for first and second year students, designed to enable students to design their own careers and acquire the basic C-PLATS® skills they will need as members of society.

Through group work, research, analysis, reports, discussions and presentations, students will acquire these basic skills and develop the foundation to become independent professionals in society. We have a small class size and an advisor system, where teachers act as advisors to not only develop skills but also give career advice.

Classroom-based job-hunting support/career selection exercises (regular course for third-year students)

This is an "advanced job hunting preparation course" designed to help students develop a positive image of work and gain the skills that will lead to job offers through workshops, self-analysis, interview practice, and more.

Although lectures are held, the core of the class is "exercises." Students will deepen their learning by learning and practicing on their own. By reflecting on themselves, students will first promote an understanding of themselves more than anyone else. Without self-understanding, students will have nothing to talk about in job hunting. Then, through workshops, group discussion exercises, and interview exercises, students will promote understanding of others and practice "communicating yourself." This is because if you cannot understand others or "communicate yourself," companies will not evaluate you on the "communication skills" they are looking for. By acquiring practical job hunting skills, students will develop an awareness and confidence of "working" and acquire the practical skills to complete their job hunting activities.
