Hello everyone. I'm Hirano, President.
Now, the robot I'm holding is a family-type robot nicknamed "Macaron." It usually resides in President office and works with me to develop the concept for the "Faculty of Information Science" (tentative name, still in the planning stages), which is scheduled to open in April 2027.
The Faculty of Information Science is a new, interdisciplinary faculty that fuses sensibility and information technology. Its symbol is Macaron, a cute, family-type robot. Whether or not one finds it cute depends on individual sensibilities, but Macaron utilizes deep learning and sensor technology to be able to stay close to people and behave affectionately. This embodies the Faculty of Information Science's philosophy of "exploring harmony between humans and information technology."
The establishment of the Faculty of Information Science marks the beginning of the integration of information technology with existing academic disciplines. Cross-disciplinary learning at Otemae University is moving to a new stage. Please look forward to it.

Graduated from Waseda University. D. from Kobe University. D. (Business Administration). After working at Kobe University Professor, he joined Otemae University Vice-President. He has been in his current position since April 2022. Kobe University Professor Emeritus. He has served as president of the Society for Management Behavioral Sciences and vice president of the Japan Society of Labor Relations. He has conducted numerous joint research projects with companies. He has also been involved in the formulation of labor policies through his activities as a member of the Labor Policy Council. His research interests include human resource management and human behavior in organizations.
