Study of the Dunhuang manuscripts Research on the Institutional History of Medieval China
-
comment
- One is to use the Dunhuang manuscripts to reconstruct the "real life" of ordinary people who lived in Dunhuang over 1,000 years ago, and to study the circumstances surrounding the loss of the Dunhuang manuscripts around the world in the early 20th century. The other is to study the institutional history of medieval China, with the goal of shedding light on various aspects of "division and unification," particularly in the military systems of the Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties periods.
