Osaka Otemae Campus was used as a filming location for the TV drama "Omusubi"

Filming for the TV drama series "Omusubi" (NHK), which began airing on September 30th, took place at the Osaka Otemae Campus for a total of five days from August to October.
"Omusubi" is a story about the heroine Yui, played by Kanna Hashimoto, who maintains her "gal spirit" of valuing her individuality at all times and bravely forges her way through the rough seas of the Heisei and Reiwa eras, set in Fukuoka, Kobe, and Osaka.
Due to a certain incident, Yui decides to become a nutritionist, a "behind the scenes" who silently prays for people's health and happiness. Otemae University has Faculty of Health and Nutrition at its Osaka Otemae Campus, located right next to Osaka Castle, and is well equipped with cooking practice facilities, so it was chosen as the location for the vocational school where Yui studies to become a nutritionist.
Filming at the Osaka Otemae Campus was set between 2007 (Heisei 19) and 2009 (Heisei 21), and took place in locations such as the cooking lab, laboratory, community hall, women's locker room, women's toilets, multipurpose hall, and library. In addition, 40 students from Faculty of Health and Nutrition volunteered to take part in filming in the cooking lab, laboratory, and lobby as extras. It was a valuable opportunity to experience the tension of a drama set.
The main actors who came to Osaka Otemae Campus for filming included, in addition to Hashimoto Kanna, Yamamoto Maika (playing a vocational school classmate: Yabuki Sachi), Taira Yuna (same role: Yugami Kasumi), Kote Shinya (same role: Morikawa Manabu), Sano Hayato (playing Yui's boyfriend: Yotsugi Shoya), Aibu Saki (playing a vocational school teacher: Sakuraba Machiko), and Mizuma Ron (same role: Ishiwata Tsuneji), among others.
I hope that this drama will serve as an opportunity for the public to once again gain a broader understanding of the profession of nutritionists (registered dietitians), who support our diet and health.
The scenes filmed at the Osaka Otemae Campus are scheduled to air from the fourth week of November.
