On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 16:30 to 18:00, the Architecture Course hosted a special lecture on the theme of "Art and Architecture" by Koda Machine (Kanazawa Rin and Masui Tatsuichiro) in classrooms 102 and 103 on the 1st floor of Building E.
Kanazawa Kodama is a contemporary art curator who has planned numerous exhibitions both in Japan and overseas, and Masui Shinichiro is involved in design and management in the fields of architecture, design, and contemporary art.
Koda Machine was founded in Shanghai in 2018.
"KODA MACHINE" is a husband and wife duo whose name is a combination of the rhyming sound of Kanazawa's name "Kodama" and the dragon sound of Masui's name "Shin."
He talked about his experiences working with many artists both in Japan and abroad to create works, as well as the challenges and rewards he faced.

In addition, the redevelopment project "TOKYO TORCH" to create a new town is underway in the area at the entrance to Tokyo Station, and is scheduled to be completed around 2028, but the "Tokiwabashi Tower Art Collection," which opened earlier, is attracting attention. Although some of the works are not available for public viewing, Mr. Ito said that he would like people to come and see the works.

Art Rhizome KYOTO 2024 "Gekiryo Kyoto" is currently being held (until Wednesday, November 6, 2024). Works by 14 artists with ties to Kyoto are on display at 10 locations in Kyoto City. Works will also be on sale during the fair period from Thursday, October 31 to Wednesday, November 6.

They also gave messages to the students, saying, "I hope you will try new things, including studying abroad and experiencing it, to broaden your horizons and knowledge," "I hope you will try even something that you think is troublesome at least once," and "I hope you will interact with more different people and have more experiences."
The stories of these two people who are always challenging themselves must have been a great inspiration for the students.
