On March 13th, Managing Director for the new school building, "Building K," was held at Sakura Shukugawa Campus, with the participation of guests including Nishinomiya City Mayor Ishii Toshiro, Nishinomiya City Industrial and Cultural Affairs Bureau Director Hasegawa Kenji, Nishinomiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director Tamura Hisao, and approximately 60 people related to the school and beyond. A priest from Susanoo Shrine was invited to the ceremony, and all participants prayed for the long-term development of the new school building and the school. In the letter of appreciation ceremony that followed, the client, Otemae Otemae Educational Corporation Chairperson of the Board Fukui Kaname, presented a letter of appreciation to Nikken Sekkei Ltd., which was responsible for design and supervision, and Konoike Corporation, which was responsible for construction.
The new school building will have four lecture rooms of various sizes, as well as an active learning space on the first floor. It will also have an area for group work and individual booths where remote classes can be taken, and seminars and events can be held, making it a diverse area where students and faculty can gather. In addition, a stroll-type outdoor terrace will be installed in the courtyard surrounded by the cafeteria area of Building K and the existing building (Building E), creating a "third place" on campus where students, faculty, and campus visitors can interact in a landscape that evokes the history and culture of Shukugawa, including its rich nature and stone walls. We hope that this space will be used not only for classes, but also for various student activities and as a place for interaction with the local community.
