From March 4th to 8th, we welcomed 25 Global Nursing and two supervising teachers from our overseas partner school, Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore), to our Osaka Otemae Campus for a short-term training program.
The training program consisted of lectures and exercises in English given by faculty members Faculty of Global Nursing, and Nanyang Polytechnic students learned about Japanese life and manners, home nursing, disaster nursing, postpartum care, and bathing. In addition, with the cooperation of the Home Care Service Station and the Community Activity Support Center, the students were able to tour the facilities. Through the experiences and explanations at the facilities, the students were able to deepen their understanding of the actual nursing and support in the Japanese community.
In addition, at the cultural exchange event, the students experienced calligraphy, Hyakunin Isshu Karuta, and yukata (traditional Japanese summer kimono) with students from our university. They also took a day trip to Kyoto.
During the hosting period, students from our university volunteered in the program, which not only allowed them to enjoy interacting with the international students, but also provided an opportunity to deepen their understanding of different cultures.
We will continue to promote exchanges with our academic partner universities.
