On Friday, March 14th, a letter of appreciation was presented to Faculty of Architecture & Arts and to fourth-year student Kitano Mao by Fire Chief Hasegawa Koji at the Nishinomiya City Fire Department.
In Faculty of Architecture & Arts, the 2024 Video and Animation major seminar (Imanishi seminar, Wada seminar) worked with the Nishinomiya City Fire Department to plan and produce "fire prevention awareness videos", producing two animations and one live-action version. The videos they produced were broadcast on digital signage in a large commercial facility, contributing to raising awareness of fire prevention among citizens of a wide range of ages and greatly contributing to the further promotion of effective fire prevention public relations.
In addition, Mao Kitano, a fourth-year student Faculty of Architecture & Arts (graduating March 2025), recreated the Nishinomiya City Fire Department PR character as a secondary work. The design retained the characteristics of the character, but added kindness and flexibility to the image of firefighting, in addition to the strength that is the image of firefighting, and has greatly contributed to the further promotion of effective firefighting PR, which can appeal to the public that firefighting is a profession in which anyone can be themselves.
Otemae University has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Nishinomiya City and will continue to carry out various activities in the future.
