From March 3rd to 7th, we welcomed 13 nursing students and two supervising staff from our overseas academic partner institution, Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore), to our Osaka Otemae Campus for a short-term training program.
The training program consisted of lectures and exercises in English conducted by faculty members Faculty of Global Nursing, while Nanyang Polytechnic students learned about the Japanese medical system, postpartum care, and bathing.
In addition, a Japanese tea ceremony experience was also held during the lectures on Japanese lifestyles and home nursing, providing an opportunity for cultural exchange. Furthermore, at the cultural exchange event, the Global Circle's planning members played a central role in the event, and participants experienced Fukuwarai, origami, and calligraphy, allowing them to come into contact with Japanese culture.
Off-campus programs included a day trip to Kyoto and a study tour to the social welfare corporation Fureai Kyosei-kai. In addition, with the cooperation of the Sakura Shukugawa Campus International Exchange Center, the students had the opportunity to interact with students from other faculties at the Sakura Shukugawa Campus.
Our students also participated in the program as volunteers, and it was a valuable opportunity for them to not only enjoy interacting with Nanyang Polytechnic students, but also to deepen their understanding of diverse cultures. We will continue to hold exchanges with our academic partner universities next year as well.
