In the "Social Innovation Theory" winter school for the Faculty of Faculty of Modern Social Studies 's Department of Tourism and Regional Management, students went out into the city to think deeply about energy issues that are close to home.
This class was conducted in a PBL format with the cooperation of Osaka Gas Marketing Co., Ltd. After learning about the concept of innovation and environmental and energy issues that are also attracting attention in the SDGs in the classroom, the students visited the Osaka Gas Hu+g Museum in Osaka City, where they learned about cutting-edge energy management technologies and local demonstration efforts.
Based on what they learned, the students worked in groups to formulate a plan for "utilizing the Hu+g Museum to promote the social implementation of social innovation," which was the assignment they were given, and gave a presentation on the final day.
The students' public relations ideas, which are based on local residents and tourists, will be considered for possible implementation.
Through this tour and discussion, the students were able to start thinking about energy issues as their own challenges, and they were also greatly inspired by the staff who gave them explanations.
Thank you very much to everyone involved in producing this opportunity.
