At the Osaka Otemae Campus, the 2025 New Student Kick-off was held for one week from March 28th, and the "Healthy Shungiku Okonomiyaki Rice Bowl" (a menu entered in the Osaka Healthy Menu Contest), devised by Ayaka Namba, a fourth-year student in Faculty of Health and Nutrition, was provided free of charge to new students in Faculty of Health and Nutrition and Faculty of Global Nursing.
Faculty of Health and Nutrition served the dish on March 28th, Faculty of Global Nursing served it during the lunch break on April 1st. Namba, who came up with the menu, also went to the cafeteria to observe the new students eating the dish on the day of the new student kick-off. He also tasted the bowls himself and commented, "It was a valuable experience to have a menu that I came up with served in the school cafeteria, and I learned the joy of having so many people enjoy eating it. I want to continue coming up with menus while imagining the smiles on people's faces when they eat my dish."
We hope that this experience will be a stirring one for the new students, that they will feel many resonants in their future studies, and that, like Namba, they will be able to use their own experiences to be deeply moving.
