On Saturday, May 10th, the University of Florence's School of Architecture held the "Let's Play with the Renaissance! - Florence Cathedral as a Living Example of Heritage Restoration and Innovative Architecture Design: A Performing Workshop Dedicated to Dome Designer Filippo Brunelleschi" at the Expo Italy Pavilion, with a total of about 40 students from Japanese universities participating, including Otemae University, the University of Tokyo, and Kyoto Seika University. In the workshop, a 1:450 scale paper craft cupola (dome) was made by Mandragola, a long-established publisher in Florence. Takaoka, a fourth-year student from the Shimoda Seminar in Architecture and Interior Design course Faculty of Architecture & Arts, completed the project in the shortest time possible, and was awarded an official backpack from the University of Florence's School of Architecture as a prize.
