On Sunday, May 18th, 18 students from the Tourism and Regional Management seminar at the School Faculty of Modern Social Studies set up a booth at the "Hyogo Rakuichi Rakuza Hanshin Minami Night Market Edition" (venue: Amagasaki Expo P&R parking lot), which is being held by Hyogo Prefecture during the Osaka-Kansai Expo (Saturdays and Sundays only).
At the booth, we served original coffee that the seminar students started making during this spring break, and handed out the annual tabloid newspaper "OTEMAE TOURISM TIMES". This original coffee was made in collaboration with TAOCA COFFEE, whose main store is in Kurakuen, Nishinomiya, and the seminar students came up with everything from the coffee concept to the blending. The drip bag packaging was also designed based on the seminar students' ideas, with guidance from Professor Masayuki Eto, Part-time Lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture and Art.
On the day of the event, there was a kids' dance show on stage, and it was the most crowded event so far. At our booth, the students themselves brewed two types of coffee, light roast and dark roast, and customers were able to try them. Those who tasted the coffee were asked to fill out a questionnaire, and as a thank you, they were given a drip bag of their choice, either light roast or dark roast.
In the future, we plan to use this coffee and exhibit it at events held in Nishinomiya City and Hyogo Prefecture.
