On Saturday, June 7th, we held an International Exchange Day at the Sakura Shukugawa Campus.
The event is held once a year, not only as a place for interaction between Japanese and international students, but also as an opportunity for intercultural understanding, and was attended by approximately 120 students and faculty members. This year, for the first time, the event was divided into two parts: the "Stage Division" in the morning and the "Experience Division" in the afternoon. Participating countries were nine countries: France, Vietnam, Mongolia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, China, Korea, and Japan. The students' performances were varied and ingenious, including dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, introducing the culture of their home countries, and quizzes. Some students appeared in costume, and it was a two-hour event filled with laughter and excitement.
The "Experience Section" in the afternoon provided a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the international students' home countries by interacting with them, wearing traditional costumes, playing games, playing musical instruments, and eating foreign sweets.
Our university has a student group called Team Colors, which promotes international exchange on campus. Team Colors worked together to organize this event and liven it up. We will continue to work with Global Center to plan fun events. Please look forward to it.
