The main theme of the public lectures for the first half of 2025 will be "Talking about 100 years of Nishinomiya," and Lecturer from a variety of fields with ties to Nishinomiya City will give talks.
On Saturday, June 14th, Ms. Kazuko Tawaraya, Director of the Nishinomiya City Local History Museum, gave a lecture on the theme of "Tracing 100 Years of Nishinomiya from a Bird's-Eye View." Although it was unfortunately raining on the day, about 150 students attended the lecture.
Based on a bird's-eye view of Nishinomiya city drawn by Yoshida Hatsusaburo, who was active from the Taisho to early Showa periods, the instructor explained how the scenic spots and facilities that represent Nishinomiya, such as Mt. Kabayama, Ozenhama Beach, Imazu Lighthouse, Nishinomiya Shrine, and Koshien Stadium, were compared to their current appearance in the city. The students seemed to be reminiscing about Nishinomiya of the past and present.

The next seminar will be held on Saturday, July 12th, and will feature Yoshiaki Yoshii, chief priest of Nishinomiya Shrine, as Lecturer, on the theme of "Nishinomiya Shrine's 100-year history and expansion."
Please note that the July open lectures have already reached capacity and are now closed for registration.
