With July upon us, spring semester classes are drawing to an end. This time, we would like to introduce the "Basic Nutrition Experiment" class for second-year students Faculty of Health and Nutrition.
In this class, students will conduct experiments using various biological components to understand how the nutrients essential to our diet (proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc.) work in the body. Students will collect data through their experiments and compile the results in a report. They will then consider from a scientific perspective, "Why did these results occur?" and "What can we learn from these results?", which will help them maintain their health and prevent disease.
Learning about the functions and interactions of nutrients is very important for our health and daily food choices. By understanding how nutrients affect the body, students acquire the ability to propose more appropriate eating habits as registered dietitians. Through this learning, students are expected to broaden their knowledge and experience as registered dietitians and use their expertise to grow into people who support people's health in the future.
In addition, at the open campus held in July and August, you can see the classes in action and the contents of the studies. It is a place where you can actually feel the atmosphere of the faculty and the charm of learning through interactions with students and faculty. We hope that it will be an opportunity for you to get a taste of what learning is like.
