[Faculty of Global Nursing] Exchange event held with faculty from Da Nang University

From June 30th to July 4th, we accepted eight students and three supervising faculty members from Da Nang University, our overseas academic partner institution. Da Nang University and our university signed an academic exchange agreement in 2023, and our students have begun an international Global Nursing internship at Da Nang University.

This year, for the first time, our university welcomed students and faculty from Da Nang University. During the hosting period, a networking event was also held with the university's faculty. At the event, it was explained that while in Japan, it is common for general hospital wards to have one nurse for every seven patients during the day, in Vietnam, the situation is one nurse for every 10 to 15 patients. Information was shared about these differences in staffing standards, as well as the working environment and duties of nurses in each country, and the nature of nursing practice, and a wide-ranging discussion unfolded among the participants. The dialogue was lively from start to finish, and the topics continued to flow even after the scheduled time had passed.

Both participating faculty members commented that the event was a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of each other's nursing systems and to reconsider the expertise and challenges of nursing, making it a meaningful exchange event.
