Sixteen students participating in a short-term training program at Konkuk University in South Korea completed their two-week training program from August 5th and returned to their home countries on August 21st.

Before participating in the short-term overseas training, the students received an orientation on cross-cultural understanding, crisis management, what to bring, etc., and they made thorough preparations before leaving, boosting their morale by encouraging interaction with other participating students and improving their Korean language skills. The training at Konkuk University included Korean language classes tailored to the students' level, cultural experience classes, and extracurricular activities such as a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace, providing a fulfilling experience that not only improved their language skills but also allowed them to experience different cultures and traditions.

Here are some comments from the training participants.
・All the food I ate there was a little different from the Korean food I eat in Japan, and had a uniquely authentic taste. The Dakgalbi and Kalguksu were especially delicious. Food culture is deeply connected to a country's history and lifestyle, so it wasn't just delicious; I think it helped me understand Korean culture. (1st year student Faculty of Intercultural Japanese Studies)

・The short-term training program in Korea was my first time abroad. By actually visiting Korea, I was able to find out the level of my Korean language ability, and it motivated me to study Korean even harder when I return to Japan. (2nd year student, Faculty of Modern Social Studies)

・Although it was only a short period of 17 days, it was a valuable experience that allowed me to learn and realize a lot. I would like to use the inspiration I gained from this training in my future studies and strive to further my Korean language skills and understanding of Japanese and Korean societies. (Third year student, Faculty of Intercultural Japanese Studies)

・While riding in a taxi, I was amazed to see shops lined up along the roads wherever I went, so I asked the driver about it. He told me that in Korea, "wherever a car passes, a shop will always be built," and that people start their own businesses. I could feel the adventurous spirit of Koreans just from the streetscape. (4th year student Faculty of Architecture & Arts)

Please make use of the experience you gained during your study abroad in Korea in your future school life. We are rooting for you.
