The CSRT (Comprehensive Systematic Review Training) seminar was held at Otemae University Institute of Global Nursing from September 1st to 5th. The CSRT seminar, hosted by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), is a systematic training program designed to support evidence-based medical and nursing practice. This seminar provided an easy-to-understand explanation of the theory and methodology of systematic reviews (SRs) for a wide range of audiences, from beginners to researchers. SRs are a method for systematically and comprehensively collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing existing research on a specific research topic. Its goal is to derive reliable evidence while minimizing bias.
The JBI Otemae Implementation Center holds the ScR (Scoping Review) Seminar and CSRT Seminar every year, which are led by Professor Naoko Nishimura and Associate Professor Tomiko Toda of our university's Faculty of Global Nursing who are trainers certified by the JBI headquarters at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
The seminar was attended by one graduate student and four faculty members and researchers from outside the university, who deepened their understanding of practical methods for SR based on their own research questions.
Participants gave positive feedback, saying things like, "I'm glad I learned specific techniques for conducting SR," and "I think this will be useful in my future research."
We would like to continue to disseminate evidence-based healthcare practice to users around the world.
