[International Exchange] Speech Contest Hosted by Global Center

The annual speech contest hosted by Global Center was held on November 2nd in classroom A44 on the Sakura Shukugawa Campus.

There are two speech categories: "International Student and Waseda University Student Pair Category" and "English Speech Category." In the "International Student and Waseda University Student Pair Category," the international student speaks in Japanese, while the Waseda University student speaks in the native language of their partner. The students interact with each other and help each other learn languages while completing their speech manuscripts. Eight pairs of students participated, eager to take on the challenge, as it was an opportunity to learn a foreign language directly while deepening their interactions with international students.

In the "English Speech" category, four contestants entered to showcase the results of their daily English studies, and they demonstrated the results of their practice by delivering excellent speeches.

The international exchange student staff (Team Colors) and students from our university acted as hosts and hosts, livening up the event.

The participating students made many positive comments, such as "I'm glad I participated," "It was an opportunity to not only learn a language but also to understand the culture of another country," and "I want to give a speech in a different language next year."
