Since October 2022, students from our university have been volunteering at Ebisu Children's Cafe, which meets once a month with the theme of "Invigorating the community through the power of food and basketball."
Ebisu Children's Cafe is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the school building of Nishinomiya Koei High School, a school corporation run by Omae Gakuen. In November, the cafeteria was held in conjunction with a baseball class run by players from the professional women's baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers Women, at the Nishinomiya General Grounds on November 30th.
This baseball class was made possible through a request from Fujinaga Co., Ltd., and our university provided the venue, as well as 15 students from the Miyake Seminar in Faculty of Business Administration, the Otemae Volunteer Club, and selected students who volunteered as staff.
Miyake's seminar focuses on research topics such as how to live, work, and connect, and together with the Otemae Volunteer Club and volunteer students, they experienced volunteer work such as reception, baseball lessons, playing a mini game (strickout), and handing out prizes.
The event was a great success with over 60 participants.
