Located in front of Hankyu Shukugawa Station, Shukugawa Green Town was completed and opened in October 1977 as a redevelopment building through a land readjustment project and urban redevelopment project, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027.
In Professor Maito Takagi's seminar in Faculty of Architecture & Arts together with artist Ayako Sato, who developed the "Everyday Memory Map" *1, and other students, we have been conducting research activities since April 2025 with the cooperation of Shukugawa Green Town Co., Ltd., to uncover and record the "everyday memories" of the "town" known as "Shukugawa Green Town" through interviews with people connected to Shukugawa Green Town.
From March 26th to April 12th (Sunday), for 18 days, the results of these surveys will be exhibited as the "Shukugawa Green Town Everyday Memories Exhibition" in the orange public telephone booths on the basement floor to the 3rd floor of Shukugawa Green Town, as well as in the showcase on the 1st floor. Please come and see it.
*1: The "Everyday Memory Map" is a method developed by Ayako Sato in 2012. It involves tracing frequently visited places/routes on a map and recalling memories associated with each location, thereby re-examining one's relationship with places in daily life at a particular time. By overlaying the "Everyday Memory Maps" of multiple people, it is possible to discover changes in the characteristics of places and land from an internal perspective.
