Otemae University has collaborated with Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores Co., Ltd. to create and release the "Otemae University Virtual Campus" within VRChat.
This project will meticulously recreate the university's registered tangible cultural property teahouse, "Chikuryuan," as well as the stained glass installed on campus as a symbol of the university's recovery from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Aiming to become a new educational and communication hub that combines traditional culture with digital technology, the project will provide a space that stimulates intellectual curiosity across disciplines, including exhibiting the diverse creative activities of students in areas such as information, art, manga, and Architecture.
On the Otemae University Virtual Campus, you can freely experience the campus's iconic design, including the "Chikutachian" teahouse, said to be a replica of the "Hantokoan" teahouse of Kyoto's third head of the Hisada family, Sozen (1647-1707), from the comfort of your own home using an avatar. Also, experience the campus, where our learning, traditional culture, and the near future blend, at the following events:
