On March 28th, first- and third-year students from Faculty of Health and Nutrition volunteered at a cooking class for liver disease organized by Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital. This cooking class is held as part of the efforts of the hospital's Liver Disease Center and is aimed at patients and their families. Its purpose is to encourage a review of daily eating habits through nutritional aspects and cooking techniques.

On the day of the event, we cooked together with the patients a menu that is easy to make at home, including "chicken meatballs with nuts," "colorful salad with homemade dressing," "miso soup with canned mackerel (no dashi needed)," "rice," and "dessert." All of the dishes had simple steps, allowing participants to enjoy conversation while cooking at their own pace, and everyone was able to enjoy the meal in a friendly atmosphere.

For the students, it was a valuable learning opportunity to experience meal preparation and service firsthand while directly interacting with patients and their families.
