On April 4th, we held the freshman welcome event "Sakura Festival 2026 in Osaka" at Otemae University Osaka Castle Campus.
This event was held with the aim of creating an environment where new students can take their first steps into university life with anticipation and a sense of security, and to foster connections among students, so that they can start their university life smoothly. On the day of the event, current students belonging to extracurricular activity groups took the lead in planning and operation, creating an opportunity for interaction in a warm atmosphere.
Each extracurricular activity group implemented activities that leveraged their unique characteristics. The Global Circle was in charge of icebreaker games, creating opportunities for interaction among students. Even those meeting for the first time naturally started talking, and a sense of unity spread throughout the venue.
Next, the NST Club conducted a group work-style experiential program called "Case Study Quiz." The participating freshmen actively shared their opinions while working on the task, and seemed to realize the joy of learning and the importance of collaborating with others.
Furthermore, the sports club organized a "mini sports day," which included an obstacle race and an original game called "Dodgeball & Bee," a combination of dodgeball and dodgebee. The enthusiasm extended not only to the competition but also to the cheering, further deepening the interaction across faculties and departments.
Even after the event ended, participants continued to interact with each other, making it a day where new relationships were forged. We hope that their upcoming student life at Otemae University will be filled with invaluable encounters and learning experiences.
