In the "Marketing Research" lecture by Assistant Professor Mizuyo Toma of Faculty of Business Administration, students learn the process of formulating hypotheses, conducting research, analyzing data, and proposing solutions to problems over 15 sessions, with the aim of ensuring they acquire the knowledge gained in the lectures and apply it in practice.
On October 3, 2025, we had Mr. Toshimasa Watanabe, President and CEO of An Co., Ltd., as a guest speaker to give a lecture on interview research. The lecture included both a lecture based on Mr. Watanabe's extensive experience and a workshop where participants practiced interviewing in pairs. At the end of the lecture, we were given a research theme: "Adult Learning."
In class, students worked in groups to decide on a course of action, conducted research by creating questionnaires for a survey on the theme and requesting responses to surveys within the university, analyzed the results, and compiled proposals. Furthermore, in the 15th class on January 23, 2026, they presented their proposals on the theme given to them by President Watanabe. In their proposals, they announced that the economic situation of a country and the stability of society create differences in the purpose and content of adult learning, and that adult learning is a means to achieve goals in work and life.
Students' feedback on the class included comments such as, "I learned that people living abroad have a different level of ambition than Japanese people, and I realized the importance of learning and the value of continuing to learn."
Then, during spring break, on February 6th, some students appeared over two weeks on "Taneshio's 'Let's Go to Graduate School for Working Adults'," a program on the internet radio station "Yume no Tane Broadcasting Station" that President Watanabe broadcasts every week. The students who appeared commented, "By taking this class, I learned that it is important to continue learning even after graduation."
