Our university and Bakery Restaurant Saint Marc (Business Director: Kaikyo Nobashi, hereinafter "BR Saint Marc"), the founding brand of the Saint Marc Group, have concluded a comprehensive agreement on industry-academia collaboration aimed at student education and expression, as well as the promotion of arts and culture for local residents. As the first step in this collaboration, works by students Faculty of Architecture & Arts will be exhibited at the "BR Saint Marc Kobe Gakuen Toshi Store" in Nishi Ward, Kobe City, and the exhibition, titled "Future Painters x Restaurant Exhibition," will be held at the store from May 29th.

This comprehensive agreement aims to promote the exchange and utilization of human and intellectual resources between the two parties, thereby contributing to the advancement of education and research, the revitalization of the regional economy, and the realization of an attractive society. As the first concrete initiative, 14 works by students of Faculty of Architecture & Arts will be exhibited. This will be a valuable opportunity to utilize a restaurant space, which is visited by many people on a daily basis, as a venue for art students to communicate and express themselves socially, and will also create opportunities for local residents to naturally engage with art.

On the opening day, May 29th, a press conference was held by Mr. Kaikyo Nobashi, representative of the Saint Marc Business Division, Professor Akiko Imafuku, Faculty of Architecture & Arts, and Professor Takashi Tanimoto. Graduate Akino Eguchi, who provided artwork, and fourth-year student Shoji Tsutsui gave a tour of the store.

Going forward, we plan to change the artwork every six months or so, and we are also considering social contributions through activities such as conducting art and cultural workshops for local residents, selling artworks at auction, and donating a portion of the proceeds. These activities embody the "cross-boundary learning" characteristic of our university's education, and will be an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the relationship between their artwork and society. Please visit "BR Saint Marc Kobe Gakuen Toshi Store" and see the students' artwork.
