[Faculty of Health and Nutrition] 2026 Food Education Activity Report ② Product planning for Keihan Department Store's "Autumn Grand Thanksgiving Festival" (Ootora Kamaboko x Otemae University) is underway.

The second meeting regarding product planning for the "Autumn Grand Thanksgiving Festival," which will be held for 20 days in October at Keihan Department Store, was held on June 12th at the Osaka Castle Campus. This initiative began in May of this year.
This time, in addition to the planning staff from Keihan Department Store, the factory manager and Deputy Director sales manager from Ootora Kamaboko Co., Ltd., which is in charge of manufacturing and selling the planned products, also visited the school. The student team "Woatamu. <Fish (kamaboko) + Autumn>" gave a presentation on the product they proposed.
The theme for the Autumn Appreciation Event was "Magowayasashii" (beans, sesame, wakame seaweed, vegetables, fish, shiitake mushrooms, and potatoes), an acronym formed from the first letters of ingredients that promote a healthy diet. The students came up with various combinations of ingredients to create their products. While some of the ideas overlapped with products that have already been commercialized, the students' unique ideas and ingenuity were well-received by the company representatives. At the next meeting, we plan to sample the prototypes of the products that have been made at the factory based on these proposals.
Despite their busy schedules with daily classes and assignments, the students seemed to be savoring the results of their presentations, which they had prepared while fulfilling their respective roles. They are looking forward to the next meeting, where their ideas will take concrete form.
