[Industry-Academia Collaboration] Students in Faculty of Modern Social Studies "Door to Creating Regional Value" challenge themselves to create a special edition newspaper.

The Department of Faculty of Modern Social Studies 's course, "Opening the Door to Creating Regional Value" (taught by Professor Ryohei Ebi and Assistant Professor Tomomi Suzuki), featured guest Lecturer from Sankei Shimbun and other organizations. This lecture is part of an industry-academia collaboration initiative that allows students to deepen their practical learning by listening directly to presentations from guests who are active in the fields of business and local communities.

In a lecture by Kazuhiro Taito, Manager of business development at Sankei Shimbun, students deepened their understanding of the practical aspects of newspaper production and the role of information dissemination, and then tried their hand at creating an actual "extra edition" newspaper. Building on the lessons so far, they have acquired media expression techniques and creative thinking skills that allow them to focus on diverse social themes and local issues, and to convey accurate information in an easy-to-understand manner for high school students and young people.

We continuously hold lectures featuring guest speakers from various fields, including the Sankei Shimbun. By listening directly to them discuss the challenges faced by companies and local governments, we provide each student with an opportunity to spontaneously consider the significance of value creation in local communities and industry-academia collaboration.

Our university will continue to develop practical educational programs that leverage partnerships with companies, local governments, and other organizations, and strive to cultivate individuals who can play an active role on the front lines of society.
