[Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration] Faculty of Business Administration holds lecture in "Career Development and Society" with a company certified as Work-Life Balance (WLB).

In Faculty of Business Administration course "Career Development and Society" (Lecturer: Asami Miyake), a "Work-Life Balance (WLB) Certified Company Outreach Lecture" was conducted as part of a project commissioned by Hyogo Prefecture (implemented by the University Consortium Hyogo Kobe).

This lecture aims to encourage students to consider "a work style that suits them" and career development from multiple perspectives through dialogue with companies in Hyogo Prefecture that are making progress in work-life balance initiatives. On the day of the lecture, we invited two companies that have received the Hyogo Prefecture Work-Life Balance Award and certification, Matsutani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and Sansuikai Social Welfare Corporation, to give company presentations and participate in a panel discussion.

Matsutani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Mr./Ms. Ogata)
The company introduced its founding-era corporate culture of "employees are family" and its learning environment, including an in-house university. They also discussed the importance of identifying "personal work values" and understanding the corporate culture behind the systems in place.

Sansuikai Social Welfare Corporation (Mr. Kato)
Aiming to be "an organization where everyone supports those who support others," specific initiatives were introduced to balance employee well-being with the provision of high-quality services, such as improving operations through the use of ICT and introducing a three-day work week.

Panel discussion and Q&A
The discussion revolved around the theme of "What is necessary to achieve Work-Life Balance (WLB)." We learned the importance of not only the system itself, but also the culture that makes it work, the company's intentions, and whether it matches our own values.

Students who participated in the course shared comments such as, "I learned the importance of balancing work and personal life to increase overall happiness in life," and "I realized the importance of the corporate culture and environment that underlie the system." It was a valuable opportunity for them to think deeply about their future careers and ways of working.

Our university will continue to promote career education in collaboration with local communities and external organizations, and will strive to create an environment where students can proactively envision their future.
